For Keeps

Good morning lovelies! Sorry I have been out of pocket for a few days, its been really busy! Oh well, I'm back and sooooo excited about my latest wedding obsession! Paloma's Nest out of Austin, TX makes gorgeous custom ring bowls and keepsakes to be used at your wedding or to mark a special moment in life. I ordered one that says "To have & to hold" & has our names and wedding date on it. So it will hold our rings at the ceremony and then we will use it as an ornament on our Christmas tree. How sweet is that?! I love that this simple little piece will be a lasting memento of our special day.

A few details from the Paloma's Nest Shop:

"Each and every piece in the Paloma's Nest collection is designed and hand-crafted by Caroline Colom Vasquez in our studio in Austin, Texas, with care, pride, and passion. Caroline uses only all natural materials including fine clays, wood, paper, and cloth, knowing that these items will be passed on for many generations.

All ceramic items are crafted from either white earthenware clay or porcelain clay. Ceramic pieces designed for DECORATIVE USE ONLY; most all pieces are NOT glazed, but ARE coated in a protective surface finish to prevent the pieces from becoming easily soiled by fingerprints and such. We do this because we love the natural tactile feeling of unglazed clay and porcelain, and try to preserve that as an integral part of each piece. Once you touch one, you will understand!"

I love supporting local artists and am so passionate about Etsy- I love that so many beautiful original pieces are all in one place! Check out some of my fave pieces from the Paloma's Nest Etsy shop and find a little treasure of your own.

Weekend Wrap Up, Junk Finds, & Loving Patty

Good Monday morning all! I hope you all had a beautiful weekend. Mine was lovely-
it has been really rainy in Dallas, but that didn't keep me from running all over the place.
Patty Griffin at the House of Blues on Friday was aaaaaammmmaaaazing! She is so talented.

Then Saturday, after a big waffle breakfast, we ventured to Granview, Texas for
Antique Alley, 25 miles of antiques, garage sales and junk. Sweet! On our way down, we were
all making "wish lists" of things we wanted to find there. On my list was a working vintage fan for our guest/workout room and a ceramic owl. Random right? But I found them both!! I couldn't believe it! I got an awesome vintage fan-its a gorgeous turquoise color and it works perfectly. And I couldn't believe I found an owl pitcher. Ever since this post, I have been obsessed with anything owl. Laine found some a cool green glass piece, a beautiful blue jar, and a boho turquiose necklace!

Then Sunday morning was spent driving to 4 (yes, 4) Targets to find these shoes
(so glad I did-they are already all sold out online). It was so worth it- I adore them!
Check out pics of my finds below, along with the most delicious peach fried pie ever,
and the lovely Patty Griffin.

Have a lovely day!

Lonny Loveliness

EEEEK! Its back again- the online shelter publication sensation Lonny. And this newest issue does not disappoint! I have been trying to work on our house bit by bit. Right now I'm a little obsessed with little tableaus- clusters of knick-knacks, book, art, etc on table tops. This issue is chock-full of great ideas for groupings. Check it out here. Have a beautiful day!

Love the Rhino head- I have been seeing faux taxidermy everywhere. So cute for a kids room!
Can't wait to try Katie Lee's yummy pea soup recipe- she's darling!

Loving all these little shots of clustered objects. I really love the crisp white desk against the dark wall- so fresh. And the leaning pictures- I prefer to lean artwork rather than hang it- that way, I can move it around on a whim and layer it. And I am going to try some groupings of objects on our bedroom dresser to create a Lonny-inspired look.

The mix of textures here is perfect- the rugged leather chair paired with the modern glass and feminine charm of the patterned rug and soft gray sofa-LOVE!

Westies! Like my baby Calvin!!

Loving the pops of color with the crisp black and white accents. Totally gorgeous. I'm definitely going to copy the little grouping on the top left.

So eclectic and worldly.
