Happy Tuesday Lovelies! The hubs and I just got home from a 5K run in the FREEZING cold! I am so proud of us. Week 2 of Training is a go! WOOT! Also, I have to give a shout out to my bestie Laine. She is a badass and is running the Arizona Rock n' Roll Half Marathon this weekend. GO LAINE!

And...I was lucky enough to get a bloggy award from an awesome new blogger right here in Dallas! Cutie-pie Hayley over at Cheap Girl Chic World made my day with a fun blog award. Check out her blog and follow her! Its so important to support and encourage fabulous new bloggers.

So now I'm supposed to share 7 things about myself. (I also received blog awards in December from Jen over at Pretty in PDX and Jo at Daily Haiku. Check out 7 things about me from that post.) But I managed to think of 7 more things to share (hey, no one said they had to be super interesting right?)

1. I'm getting my hair cut this weekend and I can't decide whether or not to get bangs.
    Like these. Any opinions?

2. I LOVE to cook! 3 of my fave recipes: Curried Beef Short Ribs, Tortellini Soup
    & Paula Deen's Peach Cobbler.

3. Right now I'm reading The Pillars of the Earth & The House at Riverton.
    (My fave books are historical fiction.)

4. I am working toward my ultimate career goal of having my own design business.
    (Need a logo? Invitations? Anything wedding or baby? Check my portfolio.
    Insert shameless plug here.)

5. This is embarrassing, but I'll tell you anyway. My hubs and I took dance lessons
    so we wouldn't look like a couple of morons at our wedding reception. On wedding
    day, we head out to the dance floor where I proceed to freak out and tell husband
    just to sway back and forth. Apparently I was too freaked out to box step.
    Husband says I owe him $95.

6. I hit the In-Law jackpot. Seriously. (I'm not even sucking up! Ha!) The hubs has
    amazing parents. I love them very much. Its such a blessing to have another set
    of amazing people to be related to.

7. Fave shows right now: How I Met Your Mother, Chopped, Glee, and yes, its sad, but
    I can't stop watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Its like a car wreck.
    With wine & Botox.

New Portfolio Site, Yo

Hey kids! Welcome to Tuesday-and the first official day of Winter! So why is it 80 degrees in DFW today? Seriously. (Thank goodness its a short week. And we get to eat pie soon. Lots of pie. And see our family. And play games. Man, I love Christmas!) The thought of an impending holiday is enough to get me through the rest of the week. We spent a long weekend with Geoff's parents in town- running around, eating a ton and doing some shopping. The hubs' mom can do some serious shopping! She is hardcore. Love it.

Also, I would like to introduce you guys to my new portfolio website. My day job is as an Art Director for a small design firm in Dallas, and I finally reached my goal of building a site dedicated to my design work.
Please pop by and take a peek if you would like. I am also working on my Etsy invitation shop and hope to have that puppy open in the spring. Lots going on here!

And, OK, I was hoping you wouldn't notice, but I am still finishing the 30 for 30 remix challenge. I am almost done! Sooo Close.... ( I will have the final 4 posted soon!)

Spotted (30 for 30 Day 2)

Good Morning! Welcome to Tuesday-Day 2 of the 30 for 30 Challenge (still going strong). It looks like the shopping ban could not have come at a better time, we found out yesterday that we are having to cut back hours at work. For those who don't know, I am the Senior Art Director for a design firm in Dallas. I love my job, but it turns out I will probably need to start looking for something new. Prayers and luck are needed! 

So after getting that bad news, I decided to cheer myself up with my favorite top. I waited forever for this little baby to hit the sale rack at Anthro, but when I got 4 gift cards to Anthropologie for my birthday in August (um, I guess I'm not so subtle with the Anthro love) I snapped it up at full price and have loved it to pieces. (And its STILL not on sale- sheesh!) Its definitely in my top 5 favorite pieces of clothing. Luckily, I included it in my 30 for 30 pieces. Hope you like it!!

30 for 30: Day 1 (and away we go...)

Happy Monday Lovlies! I hope everyone had a great weekend. We did- it was my brother-in-law Andy's and my brother Joe's birthdays this weekend, so we got to have some yummy dinner and spend time with family. And I had a nasty bout with strep throat last week but am back to my old self just in time to kick off the 30 for 30 Challenge. I had a hard time narrowing it down over the weekend, but I think I've got it paired down to things I can work with. I'm actually excited to do this... (well, maybe not the 30 day shopping ban, but it will be good for me, right? Right.) So, without further ado, I give you my Day 1 ensemble.

30 for 30 Challenge with Kendi Everyday

I am taking the challenge folks! One of my fave bloggers, Kendi over at Kendi Everyday has announced her Fall 30 for 30 Challenge and I've decided to hop on board. What is the 30 for 30 Challenge? I'm glad you asked...

It's all about learning to love what we have and shop our own closets ladies.

Let's let Kendi explain further, shall we?:

"The 30 for 30 is something I came up with in April to help me learn my way through my closet by remixing my clothes. So here is the basic premise, I take 30 items from my closet (shoes included) and mix them into 30 different outfits over about a month period." 

THE RULES

1. Pick out 30 items from your closet. Shoes are included in the count, coats and accessories (i.e. tights, jewelry, hats, gloves, and so on are not.)

2. Remix the 30 items into 30 or more outfits.

3. No shopping for 30 days. (ouch)

So, Starting Monday, I will be remixing these 30 Items from my closet and blogging my outfits. As a show of support, my sweet hubs has even offered up a prize if I finish this little adventure-a bit of extra moolah in my shopping budget. YAY! Wish me luck!
