Oh Baby!

Is there something in the water? Everyone is having babies! Maybe its the whole springtime thing-who knows? But, as my friends' bumps grow bigger, my mind turns to thoughts of baby gifts. My friend Miranda, who is having twins, is doing her nursery in a monkey theme which got me on Etsy searching for monkey-themed baby goodness. And oh boy did I find it-check out these hats from Citefuzz on Etsy (available here.) I can't even stand the cuteness. And, since I am sans-baby, maybe Geoff will let me put one on Calvin....hmmm, maybe not.

Some other yummy baby goods on Etsy:

Funky Monkey Orange and Red Mop it Up Burp and Bum Rags

Stamp Tramp

If you've known me for a while, you might remember that stint of stamp jewelry I did for a while. I still love stamps- they are like tiny little works of art! Which is why I was so thrilled with this super duper easy and beautiful way to transform stamps into Magnets in the newest issue of Ready Made magazine. Pick yours up for full instructions and view the cute little creations below. Happy Monday!

Lucky Girls

One of my favorite parts of Lucky Magazine's website is the Street Style section. They shoot everyday women (in places like Cannes and London...) and I must say, it is so nice to see how beautiful, modern women of the world style themselves. Of course, I will always scour magazines for fashion advice, but there is just something so inspirational about this real world catwalk. Some of my recent favorites:

Block Head

Linoleum block printing has been around for centuries, but I have noticed, with the new resurgence of other ancient crafts, that it has become popular again- I absolutely love the simplicity and beauty of this technique. And, its easy to do at home! You just have to carve one block and then you're off- stamp it over and over to create gorgeous patterns. In, fact, you can find an online tutorial here.
I can't wait to do some block printing on tea towels and maybe some pillow cases-or cards! Yay!

A great resource for hand printing techniques is Printing by Hand: A Modern Guide to Printing with Handmade Stamps, Stencils, and Silk Screens by Lena Corwin, available here.
I am also so in love with the block printed look of all the linens and paper goods at Les Indiennes,
(Originally blogged by Poppytalk Handmade). I am so inspired by their beautiful patterns, please enjoy some samples from their online flip book below.
