I haven't been an Austinite long (since April 07) but one of my very favorite things about this wacky place is its commitment to buying local & everyone's love of the DIY spirit. Which is why I simply cannot wait for the 2008 Maker Faire Austin! Maker Faire is a two-day, family-friendly event that celebrates the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset. It's for creative, resourceful people of all ages and backgrounds who like to tinker and love to make things.
